WOW We got to bed at 2122 last night and I slept till 0630 I am so rested like 9 hours yeehaw! Today is our concert and soda, CAN'T WAIT!!!
Concert was great and the music was good! I ate way to much. I had a med dominos pizza, 2 kitkats, 2 reeses, 2 bags of skittles, 4 bags of chips (small) and 3 pepsi's. I was so full then they made us eat dinner when we got back. (oh there was pictures taken of me at concert by the people (www.victoryconcerts.com) I think they will post them if you wanna take a look. Then we got smoked in the pit. Low crawling not too bad then we had a relay of 20 from each platoon leadership had to go twice and it was a race. Well we lost the race, but won the contest. I guess the whole point was working as a team and we did. Stayed together the whole time. So we won and as a soldier being good as an individual or just a squad does not mean shit compared to working as a team, as a platoon, that is. That is exactly what our DS said so we live by that and it has proven us right because we have the most banners and all the ones awarded to the entire platoon including BRM (Basic Rifle Markmenship) We got an 81% which is great! The highest ever is 83% they only count your first time shooting. Oh back to the concert I forgot I was dancing in front of the whole battilion Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, and Echo that is about 1200 soldiers. Did I mention I was alone!! Those who know me that will not surprise you at all those who don't know me that well stay tuned...wait till I get some freedom! Well on fireguard again tonight. That is 3 out of 4 nights if you are keeping track...lol Oh well shit happens, its only like 1 hour so I need to get have a big day tomorrow get to fire some big weapons tomorrow M249, 50 cal, a claymore mine and a 203 something. I can't remember I will tell you tomorrow...

April 4, 2009
Ran in my new shoes this morning, they feel good. Amazing now we are playing with the m249 saw a big ass rifle FUN FUN! We did combatives for 6 hours WOW I had a great time. I am covered in bruises from head to toe, but it was worth it! I went head to head with 4 males and they DID NOT take it east at all. I got my ass kicked. I was seeing stars, but so were they so all was well.
April 3, 2009
Not much done today, was out in field for 1st half of day then went to PX to get some new shoes for those who needed them which was me. My shin splints were from shoes being worn out pretty laid back day. I had staff duty. WOW 2 nights in a row, I am tired, thank goodness it's saturday night. I get to sleep in and the concert and pizza is sunday. WOOT I'm so excited!

I just threw 2 live granades, that was a rush. WOW WOW WOW!!! I am still shaking from the adreniline. I did not shake till it was over. We practiced and I was a CWL (close to wall) cause I could not throw very far the proper way. It was almost as good as sex WOW WOW did I say WOW! Had fireguard, not much else.

Well now pick up and get out before sunrise. We had to to move camp and march back to company. I did pretty good. I did fall on my ass, well face, but no real harm done. Just fell back a little but no fall outs. My shins were on fire woo wee. Got back. Pretty lazy day. Cleaned our weapons for hours, they were really dirty from firing blanks all day for 2 days. Then the DS's and 1st sgt said someone paid for alpha company to go to the movies so we had to get ready and go. We marched out for motor movement and low and behold they called out APRIL FOOLS! LMAO!!! It was funny how many people fell for it. But sunday we do get to go watch a concert, eat pizza, soda, and candy so that will be super fun! I can't wait..PIZZA! YIPPEE! Well then some PT of course and off to bed with us. Oh I almost forgot we practiced throwing granades we are throwing live ones tomorrow. Can you believe we are getting paid for all this? AAA-O ... We went to the urban assalt course and cleared rooms. Did a battle drill on how to approach a house and building how to deal with a 2 story building etc. Fired off tons of rounds, it was alright I messed up while in my search team, but hey I have forgiven myself and my DS told me to learn and move on so I have. Your your own worst critic. We went back to our camp (about 20 min bus ride) and then then fun started. We spent the next 5 hours fighting with other platoons. Ambushing, then getting ambushed. It was fun! Oh and we did the gas chamber again ( victory hammer is at same place as gas chamber) Our DS told us during chow that we are going to go through the what was left in gas chamber from earlier in the day and we were like oh crap that sucks and only our platoon was doing it (of course) but we decided, well most of us, that we would take our medicine and deal with it. Well he marched us up there and we walked through, not to bad, burning eyes, coughing, No runny nose yet so we had to turn around and go back through (no masks) then we look and another platoon is going to take our lead and do it too. So our DS took a CS granade (chokesmoke) riot control and dropped it in there without telling the other platoon so they went in it with some bad shit, way worse then we did because it is more concentrated then what we even did during our time in gas chamber. Well 2 other platoons went through so of course our DS said he wanted us to go through too but it was vouluntary this time. Well all but like 6 went again. I went again of course GO DIABLOS! Well this stuff is serious. I couldn't even keep my eyes open. It was some bad shit! WOWSERS and I did it voluntary. WOW I am crazy LMAO! Oh well we then got a chance to get a sponge bath and change clothes so that was cool. Well at bed time we got attacked for a while before we went to bed. Then found out me and my battle buddy had fireguard. Well I was talking to a male and he voluntered to take our fireguard so we were blessed by God. We did not have to do it and got great sleep it was awesome. Of course we woke up to incoming morter.
March 30, 2009
We went to victory Hammer! Everyone marched of course, but I had to go to the doctor. Found out I had an ingrown hair that got infected from rubbing on my IBA they had to remove it with no local or anything, hurt like a son of a bitch, but doc said because I was on top of it I saved myself a lot of pain. It was on my lower stomach and heading for inside so I guess DS's do know what they are talking about. I'm glad he made me go.
OK back to Victory Hammer...It was fun as hell! When I got there we were clearing with blanks in our weapons. We set up our hooches (ponchos tied to 4 trees and you sleep under them) NO TENTS! Some females were freaking out I loved it. I miss camping. Just missed the food and campfire. We slept 2 to a little camp. All 50 of us in a circle facing out to protect our base camp. All the while DS's would be throwing granades at us and we all hit the dirt. We all walked about 1 mile full battle in the dark in the woods with no light or sound. It was cool! The funny part was all the females when we got back worried about bugs getting on them LOL and a few males too. We had 3 sleeping bags, a light one, a water proof one, and a cold weather one. I slept on top of wet weather and cold weather one in the light one in my tshirt. I tried to tell everyone that sleeping in your clothes is a bad idea but come morning they realized they should have listened. Now they are cold because they just got out of hot sleeping bags and then clothes are wet from sweat LOL The DS told them all they were crazy later. WOW! I guess the old lady does know a thing or two. BTW...the only female in my platoon close to my age is 22 so I am atleast 11 years older than all the females in my platoon.

March 25, 2009
Today we are doing scenarios on the computer range. It was like an interactive movie that responds to firing from an electronic M16 that is just like justice. We were in 5 person squads. I identified 3 of the 5 enemies and killed one on my first shot. I could not fire on three of them they were out of my range of fire. We are not allowed to cross fire. We have night fire with night vision. I hope they let us take a nap, I am tired. I have fireguard and we won't get to bed till like midnight, ARG!
No nap, but fireguard was a blast! My little site didn't work, but I still hit 2 targets which is really good. Bussed back got to bed at 11pm have to get up at 4am ARG!

March 23... Not much done today. Did some classes on road blocks and check points. Then got to look at night vision goggles and the M16A4 and I had to make some calls to my credit card companies.
March 24... 1 month and I will be graduating...yee haw! We are doing shooting today with the A4 (newer version of justice) We will be standing then rising then firing quick turning from side and firing...FUN FUN! Okay so on range we had extra ammo so I got to burn off 100 rounds. That was a blast, I mean super fun! With the A4 my shoulder is a little sore, but SOOOOO worth it!

HAPPY B-DAY TO ME!!!! Today looks to be very mellow its sunday so it will be good. We are watching a movie in bible study today. Should be fun then off to church I go high ho high ho high ho. Well church was fun! I got a piece of gum. I was really excited...YIPEE! Pretty lax day! Got a chance to get my bills paid, that was fun too!
March 21, 2009
Did not do much today, did some drills with the platoon on facing movements and room clearings and of course all the normal stuff. PT, cleaning weapons, more PT, and of course listening to the latest gossip in the bay, it's getting worse. We have just started week 6 and I have been gone from home for a month and a half. We are getting closer to graduation :P and family day. I can't wait...Steve is coming over for family day and graduation :P
March 20, 2009
We did a run obstacle course, but since my back is messed up I did not get to participate, but I helped everyone get out of the harness after doing the "slide" zip line down. It was pretty fun getting to watch everyone do it. If I can't do it all that was the best station and I got to talk laugh and smile all day so that was really cool. The best part was I had all the males in the entire company get in front of me with a sigh of releif and happiness as I took off the harness (there boys were squished) It was quite fun. Made a long day, had to go up and down ladder over 200 times and now my knees are a little sore. The ladder was made of rebar I was there from 0800-1650 with a 45 min break for lunch. Lots of fun, I laughed at everyone and had a blast!
Mrach 18 & 19, 2009
March 18... Hurt my back during the run and spent all day at the hospital. Have to go back tomorrow. Had CQ duty from 0100-0300, made for a long day!
March 19... Went to doc they put me on basically a deadmans profile. SO no running, marching, sit-ups, pull-ups, push-ups...no more than ten pounds for one week. I am so pissed! I want to participate in everything. Darnit, I don't think I will be missing anything required that I can't just do in my current position. We will see, atleast they got done with me fast.

March 17, 2009
Ok qualifing day today and when I first went downrange for our practice 20 rounds my weapon broke. The charging handle had a part that popped up and prevented the bolt from engaging the ammo and firing. So off the range I had to go, high ho high ho high ho. Then one of the DS's said to take a charging handle from someone who was not shooting, but the bolt would not go forward so I could not disassemble my weapon to take the charging handle out so the DS took a gerber and broke the piece off so we could get me taken care of and back down range. I went and fired my practice shots, did not do really good, but not too bad either. Then I went back to be roostered back on the range to qualify. I was on lane 3 first firing order out of 240. BTW, I qualified! YIPEE! on my first try. This is really pre-qual. I shoot marksmen, but I want to go for sharp shooter or expert. I get atleast one more try, but the best part is I'm done so if I don't do better I am ok. Then I had the rest of the day done so I was on duty for lunch and serving and today was wierd because we did not stop anyone downrange just cycled them through. So I served for like 2 hours instead of 1/2 hour which was cool cause we got to eat as much as we want. Chill out then back to the company to perform weapon maintainence and eat chow and off the bed with us again. WOW what a cool day. Hopefully tomorrow I will shoot sharp shooter!
March 15 & 16, 2009
15th...Lazy day ate tons today, got my junk food. Ate two pieces of german chocolate cake, one streusel cake, and 2 things of frozen yogurt!
16th...Well long ass day today. We had a 6-7 mile foot march I feel down twice walking with 50 pounds of gear in the dark in the rain on the side of the road. It was bad for my ankles and I made this graceful (LMAO) girl fall. Luckily I was able to finish the march. Thank goodness because it was required. We had our practice qualifing. I did good, got to go the 1st time in kneeling position (hardest) I only missed one. I was pretty proud. I guess those extra days zeroing really helped. We were all soaked all damn day. It was miserable and we have pre-qual this morning and if we do good and if we do good they will count it as qualifing. Well I got to go to PT then off to the range.

March 12, 2009
Well another day on the range. Only today we have to mini-qualify. We have to hit 8 out of 10 at 75m, 14 out of 20 at 175m and 5 out of 10 at 300m. I don't know if I passed yet. We had out PT test today. I improved pushups from 18-24 and 15 is passing. I passed my situps too, YEAH! Last time I had 28 and this time I had 55 and 42 is passing. And believe it or not I improved my run time with hurt ankles. I went from 20:42 to 20:11 a 31 second improvement! I am pretty excited about it I passed it all and in points or percents I got 74 in pushups, 75 in situps, and 63 in the run. I aim to get 100 on both pushups and situps. I know I can't run so I don't think I can do that, but I will do my best, it's only for a few minutes of running. The higher score I get on the PT test the faster I will get promoted. Let me tell you about all the terrian around here. It is flatI have seen no mountains and no real hills either. I mean there are rolling hills, but the skyline is flat. The trees are scrappy pines none are very tall or big. The woods have little scrappy trees all over them so its very hard to break brush walking in the woods.
March 11, 2009
Another day on the range. When I say the range I mean when we leave at 0800 and get back at 1700 it makes for a long day. It is running in the 80's here with our groovy ACU's on it makes for a long hot sweaty day. BUT I did zero so that is cool. We zeroed at 25m fir 300m. Tomorrow we have a PT test and we are zeroing 75-125m
March 10, 2009
Well we are going to march back to the range to zero in our rifles. Well made the march, but sucked at it with my ankles. We have a PT test on Thursday, I hope my ankles feel better. Well I did not zero I have to go back tomorrow and finish. Darn Darn Darn, my shoulder hurts. I have fired 140 rounds over the past 2 days. I am hoping to get it done quickly today so I can rest my arm. Gosh I sound like a sissy LOL. I did get in trouble for cussing on the range from the only DS who does not cuss and I had to write a 500 word essay by am on why I should not swear. ARG!
March 9, 2009
Well I got to shoot at range. Did pretty good, not as well as I wanted, but pretty good. A good day today, we as a platoon got our streamer back (our DS took it away and told us not to sound off like a week ago we had to earn it back) and I got relieved as squad leader today. I was also the only one (everyone got replaced) that got a "good job" from the DS that felt pretty good. But being able to relax a little and just be a soldier feels pretty good. I am sure I will hate it soon because I am so bossy LOL. Well I got cough syrup and I am looking forward to a good night sleep. Tomorrow we march back to range and zero our weapons . I am pretty excited. I love shooting.
March 8, 2009
Well daylight savings time messed up all of today. The DS did not wake us up till it was time to go. Which was good because we got sleep, but I missed Bible study because I could not get ready in 1 minute. So we got to move all the lockers and beds and clean behind them all. That was no fun. Tomorrow we go out on the range and actually get familar with how our weapons feel when we fire them. I don't remember if I told you, but I am still squad leader which is good and bad because now if I mess up I get wrote up for lack of leadership, even if someone in my squad messes up I get wrote up. FUN FUN! Some side effects I have been noticing black hands from pit and weapon oil this stuff does not come off. My hands are so cracked they are almost black. We are starting to weed out the soldiers that did not so certain trainings or ones that keep breaking the rules which I can't wait for. I hope I lose atleast one soldier. He is the one that does not listen and keeps breaking the rules. I have another soldier in my platoon that keeps lying and getting caught so I am sure he will be getting in trouble. I just got my phone calls, I got ahold of all 4 of my children. YEAH! I miss you kids.
March 7, 2009
Well did some more slide shows about clearing rooms. ARG, we already did this in the field. One platoon is ahead of everyone on that. Then we went out and did some precission room clearing. I worked with another group to help them out and learn it then we got smoked as a company because someone moved in line at attention. Darn it. Then we went to pit and and did that for 45 minutes right after chow. I thought I was going to puke. Then we cleaned our weapons for an hour and only had 20 minutes of personal time to get a shower and bed so I baby wiped it because I did not make it to the shower before the other 60 females. Then we got woke up at midnight because someone did not lock their locker. That sucked getting smoked form dead sleep in flip flops.
March 6, 2009
Today we went from Red phase to White phase. I am not sure what the difference is yet supposedly we won't get punished as a unit only as individuals which is cool because my stuff is squared away. We are learning more weapon stuff today. It is fun! We are playing well training on a computer simulator shooting. I am outside waiting to go in and have my turn. I turned my ankle on the road march and its still not better. I need to go to the doc and get some ankle braces.
March 5, 2009
Well we spent our day in the pit doing hand to hand combatives. I can't wait to get home and show my oldest son Sebastian (he is 15) that mom had a couple moves too LOL We also took our platoon photos it was warm outside. But with the hand to hand combat I got my ass kicked I had to graple with males and they were far from easy on me. I was body slammed, choke hold, arm barred, but I did the same thing back so all is well. I was so tired. Then we did PT at night till 20:15 I am sooooo tired!
March 4, 2009
Well today we had 5 mile foot march. I did awesome, did not even slow down and no new blisters. YEE HAW! We did a lot of training in the field today. Squad formations, crossing roads, how to clear rooms, again fun stuff. The day went really fast. Hey they finally gave me my hormones. I am going to live! 9 days without them I was getting a little crazy. Well since some females left their lockers unlocked again we have to sleep on the floor tonight. So I am sore as hell and have to sleep on the floor. ARG! the PT mat is not good for sleeping.
March 2 & 3, 2009
2nd...Well today was gas chamber day. It was not to bad. It sucked don't get me wrong, but not too bad. 4-5 minutes of shit burning your throat and lungs oh yeah and whole body. That stuff is brutal. Us coming out all covered in snot and all on video YIPEE! When in there some people try to get out and the DS's have to restrain them. It's kinda crazy. The little women took a large male and slammed him into wall, that was impressive to watch. Learned how to do some cop stuff today. Precission room clearing. Going room to room and clearing them. It was fun but freezing outside today.
3rd...We got a little talking to this morning. Our DS told us week 3 is when males and females start flirting and noticing each other (we are here 3 weeks) and we need to refrain because if not by week 5 or 6 we will be fucking (verbatum) it was so funny the way he said it all because he does not talk like that. We will be playing in the woods tomorrow. We have a PT test in a couple hours. I have to run 2 miles in 21.42 minutes, 15 pushups, and 42 situps. I feel pretty confident about it. I just wish I felt better and its frickin cold. I think that is why we aren't doing it early in the morning. I am ready to do it. Now we are just sitting here going over more first aid.

March 1, 2009
Yeah another Sunday, my day to be lazy lol yeah right! Well we got issued our gas masks today. We are going to the chamber tomorrow. I am not sure if we will still be doing the PT test because of the winter warning lol It may snow 3.5 inches tomorrow and I guess there is never snow here so they freak out. I guess they are replacing all squad leaders I am happy and sad it will be nice to not have the responsibility, but that means someone else will. They even are replacing the platoon leaders which sucks because we have good ones now and the two they picked (we know who they are) are both loud and bossy. I am not sure how I will react to someone being a bossy bitch to me in front of the entire platoon. I just look at it like they will see their colors I don't need to say a thing. Here we live chow to chow and sunday to sunday.
Well our nice sunday got taken from us. Someone made jackoff motions at DS today in chow line so we had to low crawl in pit don't forget it has been raining all frickin day. So we were all really wet and black. We got issued our gas masks tonight for tomorrow. I can't wait to get it done. I am not worried about it, just another step closer to being done. Then we had more damn drama in the female bay. The "bay boss" went to DS about all the damn talking after the lights out. So we all got to stand at attention for over an hour but it looks like it worked because it is quiet. Yipee! Oh yes there was a great bright spot in my day. I got two and a half chocolate granola bars today. They were served at dinner. It was AWESOME! You don't even know how much you miss sweets and junk food till its gone. Hell I would love to watch some news or get a paper. I don't even know whats going on so if want to write me a letter talking about the news please do or print off a news story and mail it to me. Now my cold has moved into me. Coughing should be fun tomorrow with the gas chamber LOL

February 28, 2009
We started our day just like every other day yesterday with PT, we do PT every morning for 1 hour some days we run, some days we work on abs, some days we just bounce all over the place. We bounced today. We took our first aid test today that will certify us as combat life savers. I was the first one done in 240 soldiers and I passed of course and the instructor told me that she knew I would and for remaining 1/2 hour - 45 minutes I graded tests. We had a lot of ppl fail. It was insane. The test was so easy they really only covered the 40 questions on the test. Then we did suicide prevention interactive video. FUN FUN! Then we went to the pit and practiced hand to hand combatives. Then everyone else went to the classroom to do some stuff. We stayed in the pit and worked on strategies and he taught us to low crawl and high crawl properly. Oh and did I mention the rain and how wet we all are? and some of us (like me) are trying not to get sick. Oh well, another fun day with my platoon. Now the females are getting worse in my platoon. I am so tired of being thrown under the bus, especially by my battle buddy. Arg! I forgot to tell you my friend Allen, the one who broke her foot, got sent home finally!

Well today we did our 3 mile rd march. We marched one hour and we had plates on, we were the only unit that did. I have blisters where I didn't think you could get blisters, like between my toes, my poor little feet are so sore! We get there and got to eat an MRE for breakfast. WOW my first MRE! I had chicken pesto noodles. It was pretty good, but the best part was that our platoon got to eat dessert. I got vanilla pudding and pineapple. It was alright. One of my battle buddies got reeses and we shared so that was cool. Then we did bayonet training and an obstacle course carring a weapon w/ a bayonet attached. (I know picture me with a M16 that has a 6" knife on the front) No, I did not fall, LOL. That was alright, would have been funner if I didn't have tons of blisters. Oh well, life goes on. Then we did the pugles, they are the Qtip looking things that you fight each other with. I got called out by the female and told to stop flirting with all the boys. She is like 20 and fights all the time so I was like well I might as well take my beating and move on LOL. Well I did better than I thought. I did not fall down and landed a couple good shots. She ended up fighting for our squad as light weight female so I did not feel so bad that I got my butt kicked. Our platoon should have won, but it came down to a cheer off with the two not in contension and since we just kicked their ass they did not cheer for us like they were supposed to. So the other team won, but their DS refused to take the ribbon or the win because the team that was supposed to cheer didn't. He thought it was BS so that streamer didn't go to anyone because we refused to accept it also. It rained the whole time we did pugles so it was cold and we were soaked too! I have been here 2 weeks and away from home for 1 month now. This last week flew by! I hope they all do. Decided that I hate females from 18-23 they are so undiciplined, I could scream! Right now I am on fireguard. I have it from 1-3am arg! Oh well it just means I don't have tomorrow and I can sleep in sunday like everyone else.

February 22, 23, & 24, 2009
2/22/09 Well it's Sunday so we did nothing all day. I went to church, but we stayed in bay all day. We did have a couple females come out of the closet and tell people they are gay. It should be interesting the next couple days.
2/23/09 Well I was suppose to go into gyno today to get my hormones, but we had a required land nav today that you can't make up so I sent an SOS letter to my ex Bill and asked him to overnight me my prescriptions after he filled it. I am out of estrogen and I have a gun LOL! I hope he is quick!
We had the march to the land nav course. We had to complete it in 3 hours. My group of 4 finished in 40 mins. We were even a little messed up in the beginning, but we worked together and figured it out.
We had a soldier in our platoon leave her weapon in the bay and we got smoked for 1 hour while she was gone, then for a half hour when she got back because she didn't have an excuse.
We did more practicing with our weapon, on getting in different positions and firing in different positions.
Tomorrow we start first aid and at some point we will have to put an IV into each other! WOOT! I can't wait!
2/24/2009 We did put IV's in each other today. Me and the other female got to put them in and we are both going to be LPN's so it was cool! I put in her IV and she didn't bleed one drop and she put mine in and I only bled like one drop. It was a lot of fun! There were some soldiers bleeding like stuck pigs. I was so lucky. They video-taped some of me putting my battle buddy Acuna's IV in and we got photos taken too so hopefully it won't get cut out of the footage.
We did some practicing with our riffles again today ao we are getting better. We get to go to PX tomorrow, I can't wait! I need a few things. Alright I need to sleep...TTYL

February 21, 2009
Well today we had our first road march. We as a company "alpha" did not have a single person fall out and that has not happened in the last 5 cycles. It was like 3 or 4 miles and we had on our cavilar helmet. Our assault packs, 4 qts of water each and of course ourM16A2 and we atarted out at 5:30 am so it was dark for most of the time marching there. Then we did land navigation all day that is fun. We are gettin out in the field on monday. I am majorly bummed because I have to go to the gyno instead to get my prescription filled and make sure they don't bounce me because I am in menopause. A bunch of crap...One of the thing I'm good at & I really like and I have to go to damn gyno appt. I can't reschedule because it took a fricken week to get this one. Hell who knows maybe when I get done they can take me out to the field and my team. Well we plotted our course and when walking back to the bay we walked through the male bays and one of the females was running toward males and flirting and I told her to stop. She kept running toward him then I yelled at her and she yelled back at me that if I talk to her like that again she will shoot me but she listened. I told her if she acted like that again while I am her buddy I will turn her ass in. That really pissed her off and she told me she would turn me in. I was like go for it. I have nothing to hide. I have not done anything to break the rules. So needless to say I was getting daggers in the classroom. When we got back to teh bay she was talking more smack and getting the females all worked up and somehow miracuously my name got taped over with black tape. I was actually finding the whole thing funny and childish. Then she yells accross the bay "What Tils, you trying to set me up?" I replied "No, I'm over 30 and have better things to do" Well we got called down to write an essay about what respect means to us and after we were walking to laterine and I saw this girl and told her that I should not have yelled at her and that I was sorry for yelling, but I was not going to get in trouble because she was fraternizing. She also apologized for being dumb and yelling at me. She said just due to my age she should have shown me some respect. Then we all turned in essays and went to bed. I now have fireguard from 0300-0500 arg so much for getting some good sleep tomorrow is sunday YIPEE!
February 19-20, 2009
2-19-09 Death by power point again and it is tiring. We are all so tired and then we sit in class and try not to go to sleep. We are going to chow now to chow. 64 days till we are done. We are going to get smoked again today. I hope we don't have to go to the pit on army crawl because I have my battle buddies weapon so I would have to do it with both and we are the only platoon that still has their plates in our IBA (bulletproof vest) ARG! Well we did not get smoked thank goodness. I got a phone call today. Called my girls, had to leave Freedom a message, but got to talk to Nikki for a min. Did not call boys cause they were still in school.
2-20-09 More death by power point. We got the hell smoked out of us. We had to low crawl again through pit, not too exciting.

Went to sick call to get prescription filled this morning and had to come back in afternoon. Had class most of day. Went to hospital and the doc there was talking like my meds can't get filled and tehy may bounce me out. I will go without before I will let that happen. Then I told her that my shins were acting up to get some tylenol instead she put me on profile. Not running or jumping or over 20 lbs. Damnit I will only do it if they make me more classes. Now bedtime
February 17, 2009
Well during PT today we ran 2 miles up hill. I did not walk only jogged. Thanks SGT Born I did not get much shit even though I was toward the end of the pack. We ran two miles and I didn not stop jogging it was slow but not walking!!! I am pretty sure someone broke my shins with a baseball bat. After PT 1st time I cried because holy hell they hurt so very bad. Then we went to chow and went back to the barracks and changed clothes including putting on our IBA (bullet proof vest) We then marched as a company for 1 1/2 miles to an obstical course. The course is about 1 mile long with walls to jump stuff to climb through high step over and another tall ass cargo net to climb up and down. Our platoon got the fastest platoon banner so that is posted with our flag which is pretty cool. We have the heaviest guys in our platoon and the smallest also.We are a very diverse company for sure. We have been at actually basic for almost 2 weeks and we have one person out of our platoon for a broken foot, another that refuses to train, and a couple others on profile already (profile=broken soldier) after the fit town (obstical course) We put our gear back and marched back. My shins were hurting again not just some but tears every step. It only hurts every second, but when I stop its worse. When we get back we learned how to stand, lay, move when in combat with our rifles. Then we went to classroom and learned more about presenting arms. After learning about presenting arms we had a fire drill. Then counted weapons and people. Then off to bed. I had fireguard swept and mopped our entire side of bay, not enough sleep for sure.
February 16, 2009
Wake up was at 4am. We got up and had to get our barracks in order then PT which really sucked this morning. Then we learned how to take apart our M16A2 that was cool but today I am so tired I can't even see straight. Now we get to do 20 push-ups after each chow and we are wearing our IBA (bullet proof vest) it weighs about 20 ibs min and its heavy an dhot so do 20 push-ups wearing it is not something that looks very cool cause it is pure ugly. I fell to my face before I get all the way down and of course all my muscles are sore as hell. Learning tons of stuff about our weapons and sanitation. Well that was fun we got our helmets today and get to do obstacle course tomorrow. I am also on detail for tomorrow so hopefully I will just be like feeding people and nothing big. My platoon is in charge of the the course tomorrow so hopefully everything will go well.
February 15, 2009
Yea! Church today! Cried like a little girl, boy is this an emotional rollar coater! Well after church we had some time to organize our lockers then we got issued the rest of our gear. Even more shit to put into the darn wall locker. One thing the barracks are new so that is cool. We got issued our M16A2's today and our platoon made straps for them and everyone else still has to carry theres so were pretty lucky. We got sent back to our barracks to get our lockers done again. So I got my locker organized and helped my battle buddies. We still got smoked and really bad last night for 1/2 hr we did push-ups, leapfrog, and hold our weapons straight out then over our head and so forth. We did not get to bed till after 10 and wakeup was at 4 am. I am so tired!
February 14, 2009 Valentines Day
Well today is victory tower! Some females are freaking out. I can't wait! We get there and we got to do a couple things on the course. We did a rope slide where you lay on a rope sna slide down it without falling also a couple other rope walks. I did not fall off any of them! Also climbed down a cargo net that was about 50 feet up and then repelled down the wall, its 60-65 ft. It was cold but lots of fun. I wish everyday was like that. We got back and were told to get into a classroom. We were issued our bullet proof vests and our company had to wear them for the rest of the day. Well I kinda messed up today...The DS was giving formation directions and I thought it was PG (platoon guide) and I asked him to speak up and then he got in my face and and asked me what I sais so I was honest and told him it was me and I thought I was talking to PG. Well I did not get smoked and later he had us follow him out and we were supossed to to around corner but I followed him, DS (I was 1st) into his office. Needless to say he got back in my face and told me that was my 2nd strike and asked if I was crazy. I told him I must be crazy. We got done and got sent back to our barracks of course after making some head hydration thingswe had to make 150 of them so that took some time but only like 5 of us did it and got to the barracks at like 1900 (7pm) We were the only platoon there until like 8:30 pm in fact I got to shower alone. That was a great treat! Found out Allen has a broken foot in 3 places so she has to hang out in hospital for like a month. Well everyone came back and while waiting our platoon 3 made their beds and swept the whole bay did not get to bed till like 2200 (10pm)
February 13, 2009
Well today is Friday the 13th and we ship to actual basic. We did a bunch of crap and my battle buddy Allen tripped and fell and hurt her ankle. We took her to to sick call the doc said she has a 50/50 chance of it being broken. She told them too bad and to ship her so hopefully they will let her go. Well we have to hold our personal bag and our laundry bag in front of us...THANK YOU STEPH & SGT BORN FOR MAKING SURE MY PERSONAL BAG WASN'T TOO HEAVY!!! We loaded on the bus with all our stuff on our laps then we were told to put our heads down and close our eyes. When we arrived about 15 min later we were yelled at to get off the bus and run and hurry. Then we got smoked with all our bags for about 20 min then we had to run and get our other bag. So now we have all the clothing we were issued and we were issued a lot of stuff. I felt like I was going to fall over. The rest of the day pretty much went like that all day. Getting smoked and running. We went through all our bags and put personal bags away and cell phones in ziplock bags in case we earn them. They did let Allen come with us but she is on crutches. Our unit got all our little bag stuff taken care of then we all sat around and learned how to make the bed right. The DS looked around and assigned squad leaders and quess what??? He fricken picked me, DAMNIT! which means I lead my squad in formations and marchs. And I have to wear a rank thing so everyone knows. Well I suck so tons of fun, yeehaw! We got back to our barracks which by the way we all got to stay in same barracks 70 females to a bay and this cycle we are short on females so there are a lot more males in my platoon (3rd) We have 59 soldiers and only 14 are female so 45 males. Atleast here we can all sit together because in my squad I don't think I have any females. Well we were 2nd done tonight and the other 2 platoons (there are 4 in our company) got in about 30-45min later only have like a half hour to shower and clean barracks and toe the line??? (be at attn in uniform at foot of bed)
February 7, 2009
So we got up and stayed outside for over an hour before we got noticed and finally taken to go eat chow. Ate then marched a little and went back to barracks. Told to clean it and meet at formation at 0800 and we waited in formation for 2o min. Let me explain something to you about how messed up our platoon is. Some of our soldiers are in different barracks and so everyone here wants to be in charge or knows whats best. So our formations look like hell as does our whole unit. We are so messed up it is not funny. Now we are in a classroom learning we need to wash and not fratrnize and about church tomorrow. Well time for chow and our first PT...YEE HAW!
Oh I almost forgot one more example of our dumbass platoon. A drill sgt came into our room and we did not say "at ease" and we had to get into pushup position for not calling out and then had to go half way down, that sucked bad!

February 6, 2009
Hard to believe all that happened in one day. Well the bus did now show up to get us till like midnight so we got to jackson and had tons to do. First we got in line and yelled at, told how to salute officer how to tell who is who etc. Of course it is so cold and we are so scared we forgot about half of what was said. Then we went into a big room and handed this groovy book that is about 3 inches thick a little card and some other bogus book. This thick 3 inch book we have to read and know most of it while doing all our stuff then got given orders again and got told to write bunch of BS on them. Then we were marched into a hallway got our PT uniforms which consist of 3 t-shirts, 2 long sleeve shirts, 2 shorts, 1 pants, 1 coat, 1 gloves, and 1 hat. Then we were given like 5 min to change. Then we got brought out to big like gym area and told to dump our bags out and this was or freebe...So we got to turn in all the contraban we had in our bags. People turned in all their stuff that was against the rules. They don't let us have anything. I had to throw out my nail file and razor. Then had to buy them again, oh well. Then got to go eat. Got speggetti remember it is 1:45 am now and we are all tired and cranky, good combo. After we ate we had to stand outside in cold getting our 1 sheet, 1 pillow (lol, yeah right), 1 wool blanket but we had to wait outside for another unit to get theres and it was 30 degrees in sweats and a T-shirt-light jacket. It sucked ass! So we get to our room at 4am and have to be in formation at 5am so kicked off shoes took a half hour nap and it was freezing ass cold and we woke up and put shoes on and went to formation...We stood outside for a little bit then went in for chow like a cafeteria that was fun like no real time to eat and you can't do anything without a battle buddy, not even walk across the cafeteria without them. After that we went to chapel and had to read one book about heat stroke and sitting in out ml6a2's (?) and get quized about the answer when that was done we went over to medical and got our hearing checked again and a TB test then we sat back down. Yet another time we wished we had a DS because we sat there till someone realized we were there then we got marched over to chow got some food they had steak and lobster. We could only have one but I was tired and hungry I really didn't taste it but I am just making sure I drink at least 2 cups of water. After lunch we went to the PX and got all our stuff required like shoe shine kit more towels soap etc after we got done at PX we were told to go to barracks and put our stuff away and wait for them to come get us for dinner. We went there at about 1400 (2pm) and it was really cold in our room. Our heater is broke. We were told we could not sit on our bed or floor and make sure barracks are clean and bathroom is clean. Well at about 1900 (7pm) we went looking for someone to take us to chow and we were all sore from standing for like 6 hours when we found a random SGT who went to chow and it was closed so he had to get kitchen staff to make balona sandwiches that sucked but we were hungry. We had to eat it in like 5 min but that was easy we were starving. Then we went back to barracks showered and wrote some letters and fell asleep. Of course you don't understand how cold our rooms are. We are all wearing all of our clothes and shoes and still freezing our asses off! Finally actually got some sleep till the SGT brought in a few more soldiers in at 023 (12:23am) woke us up. That sucked but they went to sleep quick. We didn't know when we were supossed to be awake and at formation by 0500. No one told us what or when to do what.
February 5, 2009
My damn roomy had phone calls starting around 4am and I was supossed to get some sleep. On the plane to Seattle now. Have a new little baby flyer behind me so here is hoping that will go well...Oh good baby slept, AMEN!
Well flight from Seattle to Dallas was interesting. Sat between guy with BO and lady with 2yr old did pretty good till last half hour then he was ready to get off and cried the rest of the way. Well Dallas airport is big as hell, holy crap and then they changed our gate like 4 times, that sucked. Now on my way to Columbia, YEE HAW!
Landed, smoked last cig and got singled out told to tuck in shirt and take sunglasses off. Asked if sun was shining, Why I am no longer in sun and glasses still on. Where I'm from, Why I joined, etc...I was only one that he talked to... He told me my cute days are over. WOW this will be fun, oh yeah took my cigs away. I ws even the only one who looked straight ahead during parade rest, holy crap do I have somem updating to do...

Well another groovy day at meps. I reported at 6am its now 7am and I am pretty much done and can't leave until around 2pm so I get to sit here all day, YIPEE!
Interesting day at meps (military entrance processing station) On the way here one guy had to puke, we pull over. What a fun way to start. Another guy got kicked off the floor for flunking piss test. Another guy fell asleep so now he has to stand for the rest of the day. WOOT!
Not much happened last night. Ate dinner, went and watched Mall Cop, which sucked, and got to sleep around 11pm....

Went to sick call today and got some cough medicine, sinus medicine, and tylenol. YEE HAW! We did a whole bunch of sitting today. We were with our new unit this afternoon. That was cool! Actually got to talk to a male, we have been separated since we got here. The males tone down the females drama, its cool. We ship out tomorrow, Friday the 13th! How cool is that and our platoon is Diablo this should be interesting and on Valentines Day we get to do victory tower where we repel down a like 50 foot wall. I am so excited! Ok my bangs were also getting long so I trimmed them really short using some toe nail clippers LMAO! I don't care what it looks like because well I don't care no one to impress here lol!
February 11, 2009
Well wake up was at 3:15 this morning for formation and PT test at 0400. Well in order to pass for a female 3 pushups, 17 situps, and 10:30 1 mile run. Well I woke up feeling a little better. Well here goes my scores...
PUSH-UPS = 18 (yeah baby, 18 pushups)
SIT-UPS = 20 (not so proud, but working on it)
RUN = 10:22 (not my best but I passed and we have not been working out at all just standing, sitting, and eating)
AND in case I didn't mention it, we have 5 min to eat so all my table manners are gone LOL
Well exchanged loose ass boots and getting tight ones now I hope they loosen up I really hate my feet. Well we did a whole lot of nothing today sat and waited for the other soldiers to get their shit done I sat at PAB for one and a half hours and I am pretty sure the lady was on AKO chat room the whole time. Oh well we finally get assigned to our unit. I am in a unit with 14 females and 40 males. We are the 3rd platoon "Diablos" the DS (drill sarg) said they were the toughest DS's avaliable. There is a shortness of females so that is why we have so males. Our company has like 200 males and like 50 females in our entire alpha company. Thats right "ALPHA" baby
"ATTACK" that is our unit motto. After that we got sent to do our personal stuff and got to sleep so me and Allen, Heather went to do our laundry got that done but had to sacrifice a shower but oh well I got clean shit. Oh and I have told you that we never have toilet paper so I take napkins from the chow hall and leave them in my pocket so I always have TP.

Today we got our ACU's and boots. The lady at boots counter was not very nice and told me that the boots would be fine well now I am getting blisters, ARG! After we got our uniforms we went and got our picture taken for our military ID's and our send home pic. Well let me tell youI am looking sexy NOT! Hat hair, did not have time to shower last night and makeup is not allowed so let me tell you I was looking HOT for those photos. Then we go to process and of course my recruiter did not load my divorce decrees onto the PC so I got to come back in the morn. Oh yeah best part I have a sinus infection and no medicine not even tylenolan dI get to do my PT test in morning and if I fail it I get to stay here and do PT till I can pass and I want to go with this unit so I hope that I pass in morning. Shitty thing is we are going to be up late tonight and have to be ourside to run at 4 am. Still no canteen!

Well we woke up and sat and waited to see how many shots everyone needed. Come to find out I had to have 7 shots! Can I tell you how much my arm hurts! OMG!!! Then we went to dental and got our x-rays to it is all they have left to idenify the body is dental, they will know that I died. Oh and lets not forget that after all that fun stuff me and 3 other girls had to go into town (base) and get our medications changed to army issue. We get there and they sent us somewhere else. We go there (the urgent care) and wait for one and a half hours before they sent us home and told us to come back and go to other place tomorrow. So we get a meal ticket and ate at hospital, but we did not get anything good. Only the PEPSI! God do I miss caffiene and smokes and let us not forget we can not even get an asprin without going to sick call when we got back found out that we had to write the soldiers creed 50 times! Well it is like a full page long so that is some serious writing so I got to sleep @ like 11:30 pm after talking to Freedom finally and she sang me her song that she is singing during a solo emsomble, that made me cry wishing I could be there to watch her sing. Still no canteen!

Leaving for MEPS tomorrow
Ok well I am leaving tomorrow afternoon for Spokane and will be reporting for my first day at 6am at MEPS. I will be missing my family and friends but I am very excited to start my next chapter, hell this may even be a new book!!!
My best friend will be updating this blog with letters that I send to let you all know how things are going with my training.
I have been getting the question "Are you nervous?" Well I actually am not nervous I am excited. Right at the moment I feel like I am watching my life on TV (that may have something to do with all the alcohol I have consumed lol) Holy crap is there a lot of stuff to do I feel like I have been on the phone and doing a bunch of address changes forever.
As soon as I get an address I will post it on here. I look forward to hearing from all of you.

WOW!!!!
Well the time is closing in quickly. Lets see since I last updated this I have passed my PT test YIPPEEE!!!! I was pretty sure I was going to die but my recruiter kept reminding me of my bonuses. I am going to fell all of my age in basic.
I also processed into my unit yesterday that was a bunch a paperwork and more paperwork. The biggest thing was filling out my death benifits that was intense. Makes you realize that in the Military they can go to your families door and deliver the news of your death.
Tonight is my going away party I will only be in town for like 5 more days then I will be on the road saying goodbye to my kids and my parents.
I will be keeping this updated during basic and AIT so keep posted for a lot more info about my journey.
